Established in 1928, PLC has a wonderfully rich history, intriguing stories and is currently one of the top Lifesaving Clubs in South Africa. Training, lifeguarding and the Sport of Lifesaving have been part of the club since its inception. At Pirates Lifesaving Club there is a place for everyone.

Its priority is manning Battery Beach and Dunes Beach, keeping our bathers safe.  Ongoing training is offered to ensure the proficiency of its Lifeguards.

Its Nippers, Juniors, Seniors and Masters compete annually in local, national and international competitions.  Lifesaving Training is offered 5 times a week for juniors and seniors, while nippers train twice a week.

And most importantly, PLC’s club kitchen – Stan’s Beach Café at Pirates Surf Lifesaving Club – is open to anyone wanting to share in the vibe. Known for its delicious breakfasts, steaming hot coffee and scrumptious lunches, members enjoy a 20% discount on its Club kitchen menu – but all are welcome!!

Stan’s Beach Café can be found at Pirates Surf Lifesaving Club situated at Battery Beach Rd just south of the Suncoast Casino.
