The annual 12 hour live broadcast and telethon (from 6am to 6pm) was once again a success, with R1,056,816 being raised in an effort to support Game’s Amalunchbox initiative, which creates sustainable school lunches for under-nourished children across the province.

Game believes that hungry children cannot concentrate on schoolwork so the Amalunchbox project provides disadvantaged schools with the facilities so they can prepare nutritious meals in hygienic conditions.

“We are once again delighted to have this initiative hosted at the Pavilion Shopping Centre and are overwhelmed at the responses from the KZN public. It is always heartwarming to see the love for each other within our province – especially during this time when many will partake in delicious meals, open new toys and gifts and spend time with family. Just a little effort goes along way to ensure a happy Christmas for those who may never have experienced this. What’s even more exciting is that Game’s Amalunchbox project will also extend into the 2017 school year, ensuring tummies are filled where they may have been empty if not for this campaign,” said Nisha Kemraj, General Manager of Pavilion Shopping Centre.
